NFL analytics expert predicts Los Angeles Rams win total for 2024 season
The Los Angeles Rams have a strong win total for the 2024 NFL season. Cynthia Frelund, an analytics expert for the NFL Network, projected the win totals for every team in the NFC, and the Rams have a projected win total of 9.2, the sixth-best total in the conference. The Rams have the second-best win total in the NFC West with the San Francisco 49ers having a projected win total of 11.2, the best in the division and NFC.
“Matthew Stafford and the Rams open in Detroit, which really kicks off a juicy season of quarterbacks returning to their previous homes,” Frelund wrote. “That said, given how well freshly PAID signal-caller Jared Goff has played in the Motor City, the Lions very well could miss Jonah Jackson more in this matchup, following the guard’s free-agent departure to Los Angeles.
“The Rams have a pretty favorable setup over the first 11 weeks, in terms of opponent styles and the general cadence of the schedule. Things get dicey after that, though, as a late-November game against the Eagles precedes a high-mileage month of December where the Rams will traverse the country to face the Saints, 49ers and Jets, with a home contest against the Bills in the midst of it all. That stretch figures to create some drama.”
In 2023, the Rams bounced back in a big way with a 10-7 record and an appearance in the wild-card round of the playoffs. The year before, Los Angeles finished with a 5-12 record, which was its worst since 2016.

A closer look at the 2024 Los Angeles Rams
Stafford had a solid 2023 season, throwing for 3,965 yards for 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions witgh a 92.5 passer rating. The Rams also got major production from two young skill players — running back Kyren Williams and wide receiver Puka Nacua. Williams rushed for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Nacua caught 105 passes for 1,486 yards and six scores.
The biggest question mark for the Rams is how will the defense look without future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald? After 10 seasons with the Rams, Donald announced his retirement in March. In his final season with the Rams, Donald registered 61 tackles and eight sacks. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the 10th time and the All-Pro First Team for the eighth time.
The Rams selected EDGE rusher Jared Verse in the first round of this year’s draft, and they are hoping he can make an immediate impact. Linebacker Ernest Jones is back and coming off a 2023 season that saw him record 145 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and six passes defended.
