NFL fines Jameson Williams for inappropriate celebration in Lions win over Jaguars
Lions star wideout Jameson Williams decided to show that he simply did not care about the fine that was going to be coming in a few days. The electrifying playmaker decided to pay homage to Marshawn Lynch and grab his crotch as he jumped into the end zone against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was fined $19,697 for unsportsmanlike conduct for the tribute.
Williams has emerged as the special talent that so many people believed he could be this season. He’s already hauled in 538 receiving yards and four touchdowns on just 24 catches. Williams is averaging 22.4 yards per catch, showcasing his electrifying playmaking ability. And he also knows how to break out some hilarious end zone celebrations, too.
Jameson Williams and the Lions are loaded with weapons
The man that gets Williams the football is Detroit quarterback Jared Goff, he’s thrown for 2,492 passing yards, while tossing in 20 touchdowns with nine interceptions. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has 133 carries for 796 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. And Detroit wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown has hauled in 65 catches for 685 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
The Lions have looked like one of the best teams in the National Football League for much of the 2024-2025 NFL season, with weapons all over the place. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has once again proven why he was so highly coveted last offseason by teams across the league.

With his impressive usage and utilization of Williams and the rest of the franchise’s weapons, Johnson has once again proven he’s one of the brightest offensive minds in all of football. And he’ll continue to be coveted this offseason as well, if he wishes to be so. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has noted that Johnson intends to be picky about which jobs he considers.
The Lions sit at 9-1 overall and 5-0 on the road. Next up on Sunday, they’ll face off against the Indianapolis Colts. Quarterback Anthony Richardson looked much improved in his first start after being benched for a few weeks. Kick for that one is slated for 1:00 PM EST. The game will be televised on FOX.
