NFL fines Packers head coach Matt LaFleur for unsportsmanlike conduct penalty
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was fined $14,069 for unsportsmanlike conduct last week against the Minnesota Vikings. CBS showed him repeatedly trying to call timeout before coming onto the field. Officials flagged him for the play and now he has to pay a fine on top of that. The information was relayed on Saturday evening by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Here’s the video of the play below.
Packers Injury Report
The Packers are dealing with a number of injuries leading up to Sunday’s games. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs is doubtful. And Packers wideout Christian Watson is doubtful as well with an ankle injury. Watson’s injury happened during the second quarter when his leg got caught underneath him while attempting to catch a Jordan Love pass that was intercepted by Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill.
Their absence means more opportunities for two of the other stars in the Packers receiving corps: Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks. Reed has once again shined in 2024, hauling in 17 catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns (averaging 19.8 yards per catch).
Wicks has struggled with drops in the early portion of the season, but there was a reason many people had him penciled in as a breakout candidate in the 2024 campaign. Against the Vikings, he finished with five catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
According to Pro Football Focus, Wicks has a separation percentage of 82.14% this season, ranking him first in the NFL among receivers with at least 25 opportunities. So far this season, he’s hauled in eight catches for 104 yards and three touchdowns.

The Packers have 12 players listed on the injury report in all. A critical star on the defensive side of the football, corner Jaire Alexander, is listed as questionable with a groin injury. He did get a limited practice in on Friday. Packers defensive lineman Kenny Clark is dealing with a toe issue. He did not practice at all on Wednesday, but got in a limited practice on Thursday and Friday.
Packers’ defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is still out with an ankle injury. He did not practice at all on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. He tallied 7 sacks total in his first two years. And Wyatt has already racked up three sacks so far in the 2024 campaign. So, it’s obviously a big loss for the Packers pass rush.
The Packers and Rams will play on Sunday, October 6th. Kick time is set for 4:25 PM and the game will be nationally televised on CBS.
