On Wednesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reportedly had a verbal altercation at the Starbucks located inside the Indianapolis JW Marriott. After much speculation surrounding the incident, Awful Announcing posted a picture of the alleged altercation to X on Friday.

According to a report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Rapoport was involved in a private conversation with an agent inside Starbucks when Schultz — ironically the son of former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz — approached the NFL Network news breaker and told him, “We need to talk.”

Rapoport reportedly told his FOX Sports counterpart, “We don’t need to talk.” Schultz then allegedly lobbed several accusations at Rapoport, according to Florio’s sources, as the two NFL insiders were face-to-face in the coffee house.

“If you have anything to say to me, say it to my f*****g face,” Schultz reportedly told Rapoport, according to Florio’s account of the incident. “If this continues, we’re going to have a f*****g problem.”

Rapoport then asked Schultz to step back from him, to which Schultz reportedly shot back, “If this happens again, we’re gonna have a f*****g problem. Now I’ll step back.”

Rapoport hasn’t allowed the altercation to prevent him from reporting on the NFL Scouting Combine this week, which is why both reporters were in Indianapolis. In fact, Rapoport hasn’t even shied away from poking fun at the incident.

While introducing Rapoport on the NFL Network’s broadcast of the scouting combine on Thursday, Rich Eisen joked about Rapoport and Schultz’s confrontation.

“There is one other member of our broadcast team that we got to bring in and he is the Jake Paul of NFL Network. Lots of buzz. He is trending with no punches shown,” Eisen said.

Rapoport only smiled and embraced Eisen’s jests in stride.

“Thank you, Rich. I would say I’m properly caffeinated. A lot of great coffee brands. Dunkin’ does a really nice job,” Rapoport said, poking fun at Schultz and his Starbucks connections. “I could go on and on about the coffee brands that I love but that’s not for right now.”

After Rapoport concluded his report, Eisen wrapped up the segment with a few hilarious coffee puns.

“That’s the latest right there from a venti amount of information, from a fine Americano, Ian Rapoport,” Eisen said. “We’ve got the beans here on NFL Network.”

Fans can continue to follow along with the NFL Network and Ian Rapoport this week as they provide comprehensive coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine.
