NFL insider uses strange analogy to link Russell Wilson, New York Giants as potential fit

ESPN’s Dan Graziano is trying to make sense of the New York Giants quarterback situation ahead of NFL Free Agency. He’s linking Russell Wilson to Brian Daboll’s team, especially if Aaron Rodgers decides to move on from East Rutherford.
During an appearance on Get Up on Monday, the NFL insider used a fascinating analogy to make his point. He believes the Giants and Wilson could be the odds ones out at the end of the quarterback carousel, and that could make them perfect dance partners before the music comes to a stop.
“I think there’s a chance, at that point, it’s Russell Wilson,” Graziano stated, predicting Wilson to the Giants if Rodgers decides to go elsewhere. “It doesn’t sound like Russell Wilson has much of a market, and it doesn’t sound like the Giants are a very popular quarterback destination. So, they could be the two at the end of the night, looking at each other across the dance floor while everybody else is paired up saying, ‘All right, you know what, sure. Let’s dance.’”
Even if it may not be the most exciting pairing in the world, Wilson to New York would make a ton of sense. There’s been smoke surrounding the move in the past as well, with the Giants meeting with Wilson prior to him signing with the Steelers last offseason. The franchise couldn’t guarantee Wilson the starting gig with Daniel Jones on the roster in 2024, so he chose to take his talents to Pittsburgh.
The Super Bowl-winning quarterback was more than solid with the Steelers, passing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions on the season. Their partnership started with a bang, but the Pittsburgh offense dried up throughout the season, and they were quickly disposed of in the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens.

While Graziano is linking Wilson to the Giants, his colleague Dan Orlovsky thinks the team will force a quarterback if Rodgers spurns New York. Even if the consensus top two quarterbacks are off the board, Orlovsky thinks Jaxson Dart will be the pick at No. 3, which drew a rise out of the desk on Get Up.
“If Aaron Rodgers goes to the Steelers, then we are likely to go No. 1-2-3 quarterback in the NFL Draft at the end of April,” Orlovsky said, alluding to New York going with Dart. “The Giants would have to take a quarterback at No. 3.”
Whether it’s Russell Wilson or Jaxson Dart, the Giants likely need some combination of a veteran and a rookie in 2025. Fans are dreaming of Cam Ward and Aaron Rodgers coming to town, but it may not be that simple for New York, as they’re not the most desirable destination at the moment.
