NFL makes Taylor Swift-themed changes to social media profiles
The NFL is clearly all-in on bringing Taylor Swift fans into the sport. After the Kansas City Chiefs‘ win over the Jets on Sunday night, the league’s official X and Instagram pages updated their aesthetics to point out the connection between the 12-time Grammy-winning artist.
“We had the best day with you today,” the NFL’s X account caption reads. Meanwhile, the Instagram page for the league now reads: “Chiefs are 2-0 as Swifties.” The first caption is in reference to one of Taylor Swift’s songs from the album ‘Fearless.’
Some NFL fans will not be happy about the league’s clear pandering to Swift and Chiefs fans alike, especially after Kansas City won in controversial fashion against New York.
With the game on the line, Jets’ All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner was called for a questionable defensive holding penalty after Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a pass intercepted by Michael Carter. It turned a play that looked like it would give the Jets the ball back with a chance to win into one that sustained Kansas City’s drive, which was the last of the game.
Gardner was visibly upset, and Jets head coach Robert Saleh was enraged for the remainder of the game. He even had a penalty called on him, when he gave the ref a piece of his mind before the final whistle.
Evidently, Saleh wasn’t looking to get fined any further. During his post-game press conference, he kept mum with the media.

“I’m not going to comment on that,” Saleh said, before confirming it was the holding call he was upset about when he was flagged at the end of the game.
Swift attends second Chiefs game in a row
In the span of a week, Taylor Swift has become the world’s most well-known Chiefs fan. That storyline has since continued for the second straight weekend in the NFL with her in attendance at the Sunday Night Football matchup between Kansas City and the New York Jets.
T-Swizzle appeared to be enjoying herself too. After Isiah Pacheco took off to score KC’s first touchdown of the night, the camera panned to Swift, who shared a box with other stars such as Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman, the NFL cameras grabbed her reaction to the 48-yard scoring run in slow-mo.
Swift took the NFL world by storm last weekend with her appearance in Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce invited the 12-time Grammy Award winner to a Chiefs home game after he attended one of her concerts in the same venue this summer.
