2024 NFL Mock Draft: ESPN releases new 1st round predictions for all 32 picks following Super Bowl
ESPN released its latest NFL Mock Draft for the 2024 edition and Field Yates made some interesting picks compared to his colleagues.
He made picks for all 32 slots in the first round and while the early portion of the draft should come as no surprise, there were some fascinating selections. In fact, one top tier team got even stronger on paper.
Let’s dive into ESPN’s latest mock draft, this time from Yates.
1. Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams, QB – USC
Yates has the Bears going all in on Williams and moving on from Fields. Of course, this pick and a potential trade hinges on the Bears’ decision on their current quarterback.
Williams is seen to have generational talent as has been the top selection, in projections, since his Heisman win. If there’s no more Fields, Williams is the pick.
2. Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels, QB – LSU
The Commanders need a quarterback as well, so it seems. Daniels is the next man up according to Yates in this mock draft.
A lot of rankings go between Daniels and Maye as QB2 and Yates puts Daniels above the UNC signal caller. Hey, he’s pretty darn good based on his Heisman season this past fall.
3. New England Patriots: Drake Maye, QB – North Carolina
So that leaves Maye for the Patriots with the No. 3 pick. Maye can really sling it down the field and has prototypical size.
It seems like the Patriots need a hard reset now that they exit the Bill Belichick era. Maye seems like the guy who can be the face of that new era.
4. Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR – Ohio State
Talk about getting a legit weapon for Kyler Murray on this offense. Harrison Jr. is a day one type of starter and could be elite at the next level.
He’s one of the best college receivers based on all metrics according to most. He has a legendary family history in football and perhaps he’s the next man up.
5. Los Angeles Chargers: Joe Alt, OT – Notre Dame
The first order of business for Jim Harbaugh with the Chargers: protect his quarterback. Justin Herbert needs to be upright and healthy and how about a day one starter at tackle?
Alt is considered the top tackle prospect in the draft, although there’s room for debate. But, Alt could step in right away and give Herbert some much needed protection.
6. New York Giants: Malik Nabers, WR – LSU
Regardless of who’s under center for the Giants next year, they need a top end wide receiver. Nabers seems like the second best option after Harrison Jr.
Nabers was a star at LSU, helping Daniels win the Heisman this past season. But the Giants certainly need some explosiveness on offense.

7. Tennessee Titans: Rome Odunze, WR – Washington
Speaking of wide receivers, Odunze is the next man up and the Titans got him. Yates has three wide receivers going in the first seven picks.
Tennessee needs some weapons, especially with the uncertain future of running back Derek Henry. Odunze could start right away and make an impact.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, EDGE – Alabama
It would be quite awesome to see Turner in Atlanta wouldn’t it? It feels like he fits the mold and could be an all-star pass rusher.
New head coach Raheem Morris is definitely going to take this guy right? Turner was a menace throughout his career at Alabama.
9. Chicago Bears: Laiatu Latu, EDGE – UCLA
The Bears get their quarterback and now an elite pass rusher. Latu was one of the brightest spots at UCLA over the last couple of years.
Chicago revamped its defense this past season and by getting a new quarterback and a shiny new toy on defense, this is suddenly a very exciting squad in 2024. That’d be an ideal first two picks in the draft.
10. New York Jets: Olu Fashanu, OT – Penn State
We saw the Chargers pick a tackle to protect Herbert and the Jets need protection for Aaron Rodgers. Fashanu is the next best option after Alt in this scenario.
If Rodgers is healthy, along with some other improvements, the Jets could do what they set out to do: make the playoffs and compete for a title. The biggest issue was the offensive line in 2023, so here’s the first step to fixing it.
