Joel Klatt releases 2024 NFL mock draft 1.0 featuring record number of first-round QBs
Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt released his 2024 NFL mock draft 1.0 amid the offseason. With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead.
Klatt didn’t spare any expenses when it came to quarterbacks in the first round. It could be a record frankly.
Let’s dive into Klatt’s mock draft 1.0, featuring plenty of quarterbacks in the first round.
1. Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams, QB – USC
Klatt has the Bears going all in on Williams and moving on from Fields. Of course, this pick and a potential trade hinges on the Bears’ decision on their current quarterback.
Williams is seen to have generational talent as has been the top selection, in projections, since his Heisman win. If there’s no more Fields, Williams is the pick.
2. Washington Commanders: Drake Maye, QB – North Carolina
Maye is Klatt’s QB2 this year and the Commanders hit the reset button with a different UNC quarterback. Sam Howell was servicabole., but it looks like the team will go in a different direction.
Maye has all the tools to be a top end pocket passer at the next level. He’s mobile too, don’t forget that.
3. New England Patriots: Jayden Daniels, QB – LSU
That leaves Daniels as QB3 for the Patriots and it’s not a bad consolation prize. Daniels had his best season, winning a Heisman Trophy this past fall.
The dual threat could bring a new dynamic to New England under Jarod Mayo. It’s a new era for the Patriots indeed.
4. Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR – Ohio State
Talk about getting a legit weapon for Kyler Murray on this offense. Harrison Jr. is a day one type of starter and could be elite at the next level.
He’s one of the best college receivers based on all metrics according to most. He has a legendary family history in football and perhaps he’s the next man up.
5. Los Angeles Chargers: Brock Bowers, TE – Georgia
Jim Harbaugh could get quite the weapon with his first pick as Chargers head coach. Justin Herbert has some good targets, but how about adding one of the best tight end prospects in recent memory?
Bowers can do it all as a receiver and blocker. Heck, he can carry the football as well. This would be a slam dunk for the Chargers.
6. New York Giants: Rome Odunze, WR – Washington
Speaking of wide receivers, Odunze is the next man up and the Giants got him. Regardless of who’s under center for the Giants next year, they need a top end wide receiver.
Odunze could start right away and make an impact. He aided Michael Penix Jr. to new heights with the Huskies and can run every single route.

7. Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT – Notre Dame
The Titans need some protection for whoever is back there at quarterback in 2024. Alt seems like the de facto top tackle in the draft this spring.
Go back and watch the tape for Alt at Notre Dame. Notice anything? Very few mistakes on every offensive series. He’s that good.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, EDGE – Alabama
It would be quite awesome to see Turner in Atlanta wouldn’t it? It feels like he fits the mold and could be an all-star pass rusher.
New head coach Raheem Morris is definitely going to take this guy right? Turner was a menace throughout his career at Alabama.
9. Chicago Bears: Malik Nabers, WR – LSU
Not only do the Bears get a quarterback in Caleb Williams, he gets a day one starter at wide receiver. Pair these guys together for a long time Chicago.
Nabers, along with Brian Thomas Jr., helped Jayden Daniells in his final season. This guy can go out and get the ball. He can flat out play.
10. New York Jets: Olu Fashanu, OT – Penn State
We saw the Chargers pick a tackle to protect Herbert and the Jets need protection for Aaron Rodgers. Fashanu is the next best option after Alt in this scenario.
If Rodgers is healthy, along with some other improvements, the Jets could do what they set out to do: make the playoffs and compete for a title. The biggest issue was the offensive line in 2023, so here’s the first step to fixing it.
