It’s good to be a wide receiver in the NFL — at least in October. How else can you explain A.J. Brown and Tyreek Hill earning offensive Players of the Month?

Plus, Jordan Addison earned rookie honors as he stepped in to become Minnesota’s main receiving threat after Justin Jefferson strained a hamstring.

Defensively, the NFL decided that its best for October were Minnesota’s Danielle Hunter and Quincy Williams of the Jets. Both are intimidating linebackers. Meanwhile, Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon earned defensive rookie honors.

The special teams stars in October were a couple of kickers named Brandon. That’s Brandon Aubrey of the Cowboys and Brandon McManus of the Jaguars. Read on for why these players earned top honors.

NFC Players of the Month for October

A.J. Brown was Jalen Hurts’ best friend as the Eagles showed themselves as the best team in the NFC. It’s why Brown was a no-brainer for the NFL to pick as offensive player of the month for October. He caught 40 passes for 700 yards with five touchdowns. Obviously, fantasy league managers loved him, too.

Then there was Hunter, who helped fuel the Vikings turnaround. He made 18 tackles with five sacks. His 10 sacks for the season top the league. Hunter heads into November with a one-sack lead over Josh Allen with the Jaguars. Myles Garrett (Browns), Kayvon Thibodeaux (Giants) and TJ Watt (Steelers) each have 8.5 sacks.

Aubrey helped the Cowboys with 35 points in October. He was a perfect 11 of 11 in extra points.

Meanwhile, Addison also sparkled in October to earn Rookie of the Month honors. He caught 23 passes for 297 yards and five scores. And the NFC also claimed defensive Rookie of the Month honors with Witherspoon. He defended five passes, blitzed for two sacks and made 17 tackles. Plus, he started the month with a spectacular, 97-yard pick-six against the Giants.

AFC Players of the Month

Tyreek Hill, the dazzling Dolphins star, wants to breeze past 2,000 receiving yards by season’s end. He’s halfway there thanks to his huge month of October. With Tua Tagovailoa throwing the passes, Hill caught 36 passes for 602 yards and four scores.

Williams also repped the linebackers very well. With the Jets relying on their defense to win games, Williams made 45 tackles with a pair of sacks. Then there was McManus, who is key to the Jaguars five-game winning streak. He scored 48 points and was a clean 12 of 12 on extra points.
