NFL Network: Breaking down 2022 All-Combine Team
The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up on Sunday with strong performances from the league’s future defensive backs. The crew at NFL Network broke down the top performers from each position at the combine to assemble their All-Combine team.
All-Combine Offense
Kenny Pickett – Quarterback
A top candidate for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, Pitt star Kenny Pickett had a strong combine performance – despite his hand measurement.
“Pickett displayed the same composure that powered him to become a Heisman finalist in 2021, hitting receivers in stride and delivering the ball with confidence throughout his on-field workout,” Nick Shook of NFL Network writes. “He also ran a 4.73-second 40-yard dash, which is pretty darn good, even in this new era of mobile quarterbacks.”
Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker III – Running Backs
Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker both posted sub-4.4 40-yard dash times this week at the combine, further cementing their status as top-round backs.
Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Skyy Moore – Wide Receivers
According to NFL Network’s analysis, the NFL combine gave Ohio State’s star wide receivers a chance to close the gap between their current first-round projections.
“Olave made a strong argument for a leap into the top 15 picks in April,” Shook writes. “The wideout began Thursday night by running a quick 4.39 40-yard dash, then put together a stellar series of field drills.”
Greg Dulcich, Connor Heyward – Tight Ends
UCLA and Michigan State tight ends Greg Dulcich and Connor Heyward both did “everything right” at this week’s combine. Dulcich posted a 4.69 40-yard dash that helped him stand out amongst his peers.
Ickey Ekwonu (LT), Cole Strange (LG), Cam Jurgens (C), Dylan Parham (RG), Charles Cross (RT) – Offensive Line
There’s still plenty of intrigue heading towards the draft about who will be the top offensive lineman off the board. Evan Neal opting to sit out of workouts gave others a chance to shine at the combine.

Defense
Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt – Interior DL
Georgia’s defensive lineman wowed at the NFL draft combine this week. Even better than expected, Davis stunned with a 4.78-second 40-yard dash at 341 pounds, the fastest time posted by any player over 310 pounds at the combine since 2003.
Travon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson, Jermaine Johnson – Edge Rushers
Some of the year’s top pass rushers, Travon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson and Jermaine Johnson all shone for various reasons at the combine. Walker was especially impressive with his 4.51 40-yard dash.,
Devin Lloyd, Channing Tindall, Christian Harris – Linebackers
Alabama linebacker Christian Harris led the day with his 4.44 40-yard dash but all three linebackers were sharp in on-field drills. The New England Patriots are amongst the top teams looking to add high-round talent at linebacker.
Ahmad Gardner, Trent McDuffie – Cornerbacks
Ahmad Gardner finished the combine with the best Next Gen Stats overall draft score at 93. Helping that score was his 4.41 40-yard dash. Trent McDuffie wasn’t far behind at 4.44.
Kyle Hamilton, Dax Hill – Safties
Dax Hill and Kyle Hamilton are largely regarded as the top safety prospects in this year’s draft and they didn’t disappoint on Sunday. Hamilton, especially, proved why he’s a top-five pick.
“He completed excellent reps in nearly every drill and was springy in his steps and jumps, leaping to make an excellent grab in the backpedal-and-90-degree-break drill, his best play of the afternoon,” Shook writes.
