Jeremiah’s mock has a ton of surprises in the Top 10

It didn’t take long for Jeremiah to make some bold predictions in his NFL mock draft. At the top, he had the Jaguars taking Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal. The move would make a lot of sense for Jacksonville, as they need help up front to help protect young quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Then, Jeremiah mocked Aidan Hutchinson to Detroit. But Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux was not right behind Hutchinson as most expect. Instead, Jeremiah has the Texans taking Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton.

The Jets then grab Thibodeaux, while the Giants take NC State offensive lineman Ikem Ekwonu. At No. 6, though, another surprise is in store. Jeremiah mocked Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad Gardner to the Carolina Panthers. LSU’s Derek Stingley is widely viewed as the top corner available, although he has dealt with injuries. Jeremiah has Stingley as the third corner taken behind Gardner and Washington’s Trent McDuffie (Jets, No. 10).

Jeremiah’s next surprise comes at eighth overall, with Arkansas’ Treylon Burks becoming the first wide receiver taken. Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave and Alabama’s Jameson Williams are seen as the top receivers in the class, along with USC’s Drake London. But Jeremiah has Burks cracking the Top 10 and surpassing them all.

The Broncos then take Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett at No. 9. He is one of three first-round quarterbacks in Jeremiah’s mock draft, joining Ole Miss’ Matt Corral (Washington, No. 11) and Liberty’s Malik Willis (Detroit, No. 29).
