NFL world reacts to Taylor Swift joining Travis Kelce's mom at Chiefs game

Any romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was beginning to look like folklore until Sunday when the 33-year-old singer-songwriter shocked NFL and Swifty nations alike by joining Kelce’s mom in his suite during the Chiefs’ game against the Bears.

Swift must like Kelce’s style because she decided to attend the game the same week that the Kansas City tight end revealed on the Pat McAfee Show that he invited her to Arrowhead.

From the Kelce suite where she sat beside Donna Kelce, Swift could see the Chiefs dismantling the Bears all too well, going up 34-0 before the half. Despite the huge early lead, the tight end didn’t find the endzone in the first half.

After news broke that Swift would be in Arrowhead for the game against Chicago, her name immediately started trending on social media. As a well-known Philadelphia Eagles fan, the singer put aside her Kelly Green for Kansas City red, though some are hoping it’s all a ploy.

“If Taylor Swift is a real Eagles fan she’ll string Travis along until the playoffs & dump him in heart breaking fashion which ruins his psyche & causes KC to blow up from the inside,” one Eagles fan wrote on X.

“Travis Kelce says ONE TIME on a podcast that he wanted to talk to Taylor Swift and now they’re dating but when I say the same about Rihanna for 6 years all I get is a ‘restraining order,'” another NFL fan joked.

Jason Kelce fanned the flames of the rumors during a number of interviews last week. Travis went on to poke fun at his brother for his attention-seeking behavior.

“He’s had a whole lot of fun since then and he’s still having fun and then not even a week later tell everybody that it’s 100% true. I mean, the guy is absolutely ridiculous,” Kelce said, grinning. “He can’t stay out of the freaking headlines. He was on the show yesterday saying — not that he wants to be but the fact that everyone thinks he’s Ian Rapoport of my dating relationship. Please everyone stop asking my brother about my dating life.”

One of the biggest NFL stars of this decade dating one of the biggest pop stars of the century is a storyline no one could have predicted when Swift hit the market after six years last spring. She ended a six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn in April. Since then, she was linked to The 1975’s frontman Matt Healy.
