Nic Fink hits heart-warming gesture to pregnant wife after qualifying for Olympics
Former Georgia swimmer Nic Fink qualified for the Olympics on Sunday, which also happened to be Father’s Day. Fink finished first in the 100-meter breaststroke to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and the date on the calendar had a bit of added significance for him.
His wife, who is pregnant, was there in the crowd to cheer him on, and was seen throwing her hands up and crying upon the results of the race. Fink made a cradling motion in response in the pool upon his first-place finish. You can view the moment below.
It is the second time that Fink, 30, will compete in the Olympics after he was also a member of Team USA during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He finished fifth in the 200-meter breaststroke in that race, but will aim to avenge that loss in this year’s event.
Fink first competed for the Olympics in 2012, so the two recent qualifications are a big achievement for him. He first made notoriety with his second-place finish in the 2013 US National Championships 100-meter breaststroke.

Fink competed for Georgia from the 2010-13 season and later earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech. The 2024 Paris Olympics are set to begin on July 26, and Nic Fink will aim for another record as he looks to represent the USA.
