Cleveland Browns offensive stars Nick Chubb and David Njoku know how important Myles Garrett is to the organization. Before Super Bowl LIX, On3 spoke to Chubb and Njoku about Garrett, who has requested a trade from the Browns.

“He’s just a freak. He’s a freak of nature,” Nick Chubb told On3. “This man is huge, and to be able to move and bend as he does, because that guy was like 66 or something, it’s incredible. And then what he brings to the team, the dynamic. Just him being just a superhuman. I mean, he’s hard to stop. He’s hard to play against for other teams. I mean, he does go against a run, gets to pass. He can nod up anywhere. He’s just a freak of nature. He’s just so different and so special to anyone I pick around.”

“He’s literally like an avatar,” David Njoku added. “He can disrupt a whole offense single-handedly. And you don’t come across many guys like that in this league. So he’s an exceptional player and person.”

Why Myles Garrett wants to be traded

The Browns selected Garrett No. 1 overall in the 2017 draft and is now one of the top pass rushers in the league. In eight seasons, the Texas A&M alum has recorded 102.5 sacks, named to the Pro Bowl six times, selected to the All-Pro Team six times and was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.

Myles Garrett appeared on ESPN’s Postseason NFL Countdown during Super Bowl week and explained why he requested a trade. “I just felt after taking some time after the season — using that time to decompress and talk with my family, consult with them, work through some feelings and emotions and also speaking with management at the Browns — I just felt like at this current time, I don’t feel like our future is aligned with winning right now,” Garrett said. “And that’s what I’m looking forward to doing at this stage in my career.

“I have a lot of love for northeast Ohio, a community that brought me into the league. But I want to get to contending and winning playoff games and having a chance to be in games like today [Super Bowl].”
