Nick Chubb injury update: Browns RB suffered broken foot in loss to Chiefs
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb will miss the rest of the 2024 season due to a broken foot he suffered in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced the injury update after the game.
The foot injury happened in the third quarter during a non-contact incident on a Jameis Winston run. After going to the medical tent, Chubb walked to the locker room with medical personnel. Chubb finished the game with 41 rushing yards on nine carries and one lost fumble.
The 2024 season has been challenging for Chubb who started the the year on the PUP list. In the second week of the 2023 season, the former Georgia Bulldogs star suffered a torn MCL with a damaged ACL, leading to him missing the rest of the season. Chubb didn’t make his 2024 debut until Oct. 20 when the Browns took on the Cincinnati Bengals. In that game, Chubb rushed for 22 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries in the Browns’ 21-14 loss to their AFC North rival.

Nick Chubb has seen limited action in 2023 and 2024
Chubb entered Sunday’s game with three rushing touchdowns and 291 yards on 93 carries. Due to multiple injuries, Chubb has played in just 10 games in the last two seasons. From 2019 to 2022, Chubb rushed for over 1,000 yards each season and was named to the Pro Bowl.
“Nick’s a pretty special football player,” Kevin Stefanski said last month, per ESPN. “He’s a pretty special person. I think he embodies a lot of what we want to be as Cleveland Browns and certainly I think our fans feel that from him. And for me, from my chair, I get to watch him work, and I get to see the fruits of his labor. … So, I’ve gotten to witness this journey, if you will, from back to last year and how hard he’s worked. So, I think that just resonates with our fan base.”
