Nick Chubb video shows Browns running back is getting closer to playing
Wondering when Nick Chubb‘s knee might be strong enough for him to get on the field with the Cleveland Browns?
Looks like he’s nearing that point in his rehab. We’re assuming he’d need two strong knees to squat 540 pounds. A video of the Browns running back doing so went viral on Monday and is now approaching 2 million views.
NFL social media shared the short video clip, with the caption “Nick Chubb looks ready to get back out there.”

Browns start training camp next week. Chubb’s status isn’t clear
The Browns will know more about Chubb’s status shortly. Cleveland rookies report next Monday to training camp in West Virginia. Veteran Browns like Chubb follow three days later.
A reporter with Cleveland.com filled in some of the blanks with Chubb’s list. He did it Monday at his alma mater, Cedartown High School in Georgia. Believe it or not, Chubb used to be able to squat 675.
Chubb, the former Georgia star, suffered a severe knee injury in week two last season. The Browns were facing the Steelers for a Monday Night Football game at Acrisure Stadium. On a carry in the second quarter, his knee bent awkwardly as he was hit by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Here’s how severe the injury actually was. He tore his ACL and MCL along with the medial capsule and meniscus. It took two separate surgeries to repair the damage. This was the second time the Browns back had suffered such an injury. He did so back when he was approaching Herschel Walker’s rushing records in 2015 when he was a Georgia Bulldog.

It’s still unclear how much Chubb will be able to do at training camp. He was with his teammates during OTAs and mandatory minicamp last month. Everyone wants him to be able to play as soon as he’s healthy. But these sorts of injuries can take about a year.
Chubb met with reporters last month. But he didn’t offer a timeline for his return. He said doubters who say he can’t come back fuel him.
“I use that as motivation,” he said then. “I see everything. It’s not the first time someone has counted me out, so I’ve been here before, and I’m not really paying much attention to it. But I do see it, and I’m just focusing on getting better.”
He also added, “It’s a blessing to play this game. You can’t take it for granted because in one play, it can all be taken away. I’m just blessed to have so much support around Cleveland, the fans, my friends, family, just to keep me uplifted and keep me going.
“I’m getting better every day, taking it day by day, getting better. Yeah, just right now, trying to get stronger.”
And he showed Monday with the weight-lifting session that he has grown stronger.
