Nick Saban and Channing Crowder took a look back at when strippers were part of a Miami Dolphins rookie show. On The Pivot Podcast, co-host and former NFL defensive back Ryan Clark asked Saban about the time when Crowder brought out strippers during the rookie show.

“Miss Terry don’t know that s*** happened,” Saban said as Crowder, Clark and fellow co-host Fred Taylor laughed.

Crowder replied, “I assume Miss Terry liked me. Me as Miss Terry had a good relationship when I was playing. She gave me the cookies, so I used to take the cookies to the linebacker room.”

“If she knew you did this, you wouldn’t get any cookies,” Saban fired back.

Clark then asked Saban his reaction when he saw the strippers and if Miss Terry was going to kill him. “No, well that does enter your mind,” Saban said. “Pro ball is different. Guys are older, they’re more mature, you’re still trying to work on the psychological aspects. But they can separate like this is a serious competitive part of it and now we’re going to have some fun, and that’s good for team chemistry and camaraderie and players laughing and all that.

“The season is so long in pro ball. The guys are older, they’re more mature. Maturity is about making the right decisions in the right situations when it presents itself. College guys aren’t all ready to do that. It’s just a little bit different, so I just kind of took it in stride as this is part of it.”

Nick Saban and the Dolphins drafted Channing Crowder in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. In 2022, the former NFL linebacker first shared the stripper story on The Pivot Podcast.

“I brought in a stripper and had them dance for Nick Saban,” Crowder told former NFL quarterback Jamarcus Russell at the time. “I brought strippers in the Dolphins facility. She walked in with nothing but a thong on and a Jason Taylor jersey and she went up there — Nick Saban was on a chair. And she went up there and shook it for Nick Saban.”

Saban coached for the Dolphins for just two seasons before heading to Alabama and winning six national championships. Crowder played for the Dolphins from 2005 to 2010 and recorded 470 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception in 82 career games.
