Nike and SKIMS, the women’s clothing brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian, are joining forces on a new venture. The two companies announced this week the launch of NikeSKIMS with plans to “disrupt the global fitness and activewear industry.”

The brand will focus on women’s sports with activewear and fitness apparel. It will also promote inclusivity and body positivity – pillars of Kardashian’s brand upon SKIMS’ launch last year.

NikeSKIMS is set to launch its first collection this spring at select retail locations and also online, according to a press release. The plan is then to expand globally in 2026.

“Nike and SKIMS share a deep commitment to innovation, inclusivity and pushing boundaries, driven by an unwavering belief in the power of women,” Kardashian said in a statement. “This partnership is the culmination of that shared vision, delivering product that is meticulously designed to sculpt and perform for every body. Every single detail has been obsessed over and carefully considered. We’re incredibly excited to unveil our first collection this spring.”

The collaboration is a major venture into the women’s sports space for Nike. The company has notable deals with high-profile athletes such as Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson in the WNBA, announcing signature shoes for both stars. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark also signed a lucrative contract with the company and is getting ready to debut her own signature shoe.

At the college level, USC standout JuJu Watkins and UConn star Paige Bueckers are among the women’s basketball stars to partner with Nike. Beyond basketball, UCLA gymnast Jordan Chiles is a notable college athlete to sign an NIL deal with the company and, along with Watkins, appeared in the company’s first Super Bowl commercial in 25 years.

“We’re energized by the opportunity to build a new brand and shake things up for the next generation of athletes with NikeSKIMS,” said Heidi O’Neill, Nike President of Consumer, Product and Brand, in a statement. “This partnership brings together the best of both brands and unlocks an incredible opportunity to disrupt the industry with our shared passion and commitment to innovation. We will invite even more athletes into sport and movement with product that makes them feel strong and sexy.”

NikeSKIMS will include a line of training apparel, as well as footwear and accessories, the companies said. The goal will be to make products not only for the gym, but also for everyday wear with “premium-quality and style-forward designs available to all women through extended sizing.”
