Nuggets vs. Clippers: NBA officials make controversial call following Jamal Murray picking up Norman Powell

Things got heated between Jamal Murray and Norman Powell during Game 2 of a first-round playoff series between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers. The two got tangled up near the end of the third quarter, having to be separated by their teammates.
The altercation occurred after Murray, who was guarding Powell on the previous play, appeared to pick him up off the ground to stop him from driving past. Surprisingly, officials ruled it a common foul as opposed to a technical or flagrant. You can view it below.
Things were neck-and-neck entering the fourth quarter as the Clippers were hanging on to a 78-76 lead. The teams continued to trade blows down the stretch as the game remained close down to the final minutes.
Denver had a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime but missed a pair of 3-pointers from Christian Braun and Nikola Jokic in the final seconds. That allowed LA to hang on for the 105-102 victory and even the series at 1-1.
Jamal Murray finished with 23 points and six assists as he shot 9-of-17 from the floor, while Norman Powell had 13 points and three steals. The teams will now meet again for Game 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles. With the way the first two games of the series have gone, fans will hope for another tight battle.

While Harrison may have wanted to talk about his team, most of the discussion centered around Luka Doncic. Quotes coming out of the press conference just angered Mavs fans even more, particularly where Harrison claimed to not know the impact Doncic had on the franchise.
This led Charles Barkley to call out Harrison ahead of Monday night’s NBA Playoffs slate. Barkley is wishing the best for the Dallas GM but advised him against publicly speaking anytime soon.
“Listen, man,” Barkley began. “I consider you a friend of mine, Nico Harrison. I consider you a friend of mine. I wish you nothing but the best. I thought he did a good job last year with the Mavs and obviously, whatever happened this year didn’t work out.
“Man, don’t do any more press conferences. I don’t know what you’re even doing. I really don’t. Like, I got sympathy and love for you. But I have zero idea what you’re trying to do. This war is over, brother. You’ve taken the L. I hope you keep your job, hope the team gets healthy. But man, don’t do any more interviews. Please don’t.”
