Just when Baltimore wideout Odell Beckham Jr. was starting to return to his old form on Thursday Night Football, he suffered an injury. Beckham had to exit the Bengals-Ravens matchup on Thursday, walking off the field wincing in pain. He was holding his left shoulder following a hard tackle from Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson. Wilson also drilled Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and quarterback Lamar Jackson, forcing both players to also seek medical attention after the tackles.

According to the Amazon Prime broadcast, Beckham was also seen getting X-rays on the injured shoulder. Before going down with the injury, the former LSU standout hauled in over 100-receiving yards, his first 100-yard game since 2021.

He spent the 2022 season away from the game of football, while rehabbing the ACL injury he suffered in the Super Bowl with the LA Rams. This offseason, he decided to sign with the Baltimore Ravens for one year, worth up to $18 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Beckham actually attended the same high school as the Manning family (Cooper Manning, Arch Manning, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning), Isidore Newman (New Orleans, Louisiana).

When he played his college football for LSU, Beckham saved his best season for last, bringing in first team All-American and first team All-SEC honors in 2013. That season, he hauled in 59 catches for 1,152 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He also shined as a kick returner, with 32 returns for 845 yards, averaging 26.4 yards per return.

In the NFL, it didn’t take Beckham at all to find his groove. He won Rookie of the Year honors with the New York Giants, the team that selected him with the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The former LSU star became just the fourth rookie in league history to have at least 1,300 receiving yards in a season.

The most dominant seasons of his NFL career came with the New York Giants. From 2014 to 2018, he hauled in over 1,000 receiving yards in four of those five years. OBJ also punched his ticket to three Pro Bowls when he was on the Giants. (2014-2016). Beckham also hauled in over 1,000 receiving yards with the Cleveland Browns in 2019.

Before landing with the Ravens this offseason, the former LSU star had a brief stint with the LA Rams in 2021.

For his NFL career thus far, OBJ has hauled in over 7,700 receiving yards.
