Odell Beckham Jr. kicked off plane due to disruptive behavior
NFL free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was kicked off of a plane in Miami on Sunday, according to radio host Andy Slater. Beckham was reportedly in and out of consciousness and would not put his seat belt on, according to Slater. Beckham’s flight was bound for Los Angeles and all others on the plane had to get off the plane due to his refusal to leave.
Prior to the report on Beckham, the NFL receiver took to Twitter and shared a cryptic message, which now appears to have been about the incident.
“Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me…,” Beckham wrote in a tweet. “I’ve seen it all…”
The Miami-Dade Police have since released a statement on the incident involving Beckham, via Tom Pelissero.
“At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department, were dispatched to a medical emergency at an American Airlines flight,” the statement read. “The flight crew was concerned for a passenger (Mr. Odell Beckham), as they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, eh appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness, prior to their departure. Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, and that his condition would worsen through the expected 5 hour flight, the attendants called for police and fire rescue. Upon the officer’s arrival, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to exit the aircraft, which he refused. The aircraft was deplaned, at which time Mr. Beckham was asked by the officers to exit the plane, and did so without incident. Mr. Beckham was escorted to the non-secure area of the terminal by the officers where he made other arrangements.”
Beckham is one of the more notable names in the league right now due to his current free agent status. The former No. 12 overall pick and two-time All-Pro receiver won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams last year, but hit free agency after suffering a torn ACL.

Dallas Cowboys chasing after Beckham
Among the teams that are involved in the pursuit of Beckham is the Dallas Cowboys. Team ownership and players have both spoken publicly about wanting Beckham to join them, most recently after defeating the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day. After the game, Around the NFL‘s Jeremy Bergman shared what running back Ezekiel Elliott told NFL Network’s Jane Slater in regards to Beckham.
“Ezekiel Elliott to [Jane Slater] on his message to Odell Beckham: ‘Hey, OBJ, man: We want you in Dallas. You know, all the stars shine brighter in Dallas. So I mean, look, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do to get him. Hey, we need OBJ.’”
Elliott isn’t the only Dallas star calling for Beckham to join the team, with players like Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence and quarterback Dak Prescott all pressuring both sides to find an agreement. Prescott claimed on Tuesday of this week that their dominant performance against the Minnesota Vikings last week was a powerful recruiting effort by itself.
“When we’re playing like [how we did in Minnesota] and you’re able to add a talent like Odell, that can be special,” said Prescott. “That just creates more weapons for not only me, but for the offense [as a whole] and for the play-caller. It’s more things for the defense to worry about.
“We’re getting him in [for a visit] and hopefully things are going great in the recruiting process.”
The Buffalo Bills and Giants are also believed to be involved in the chase of Beckham.
