Official measurements for Reed Sheppard, Kentucky stars revealed at 2024 NBA Draft

Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Kentucky Wildcats could be in for a tremendous night, with some of their former players projected to be top picks at the next level.

Before all of that gets going, each prospect is having their official measurements done for a night that will change their lives. Here’s where the former Wildcats stand at the moment.

• Reed Sheppard: Hand Length (Inches): 7.75; Hand Width (Inches): 9.00; Height W/O Shoes: 6′ 1.75″; Standing Reach: 7′ 9.50″; Weight (LBS): N/A; Wingspan: 6′ 3.25″
• Justin Edwards: Hand Length (Inches): 8.75; Hand Width (Inches): 8.75; Height W/O Shoes: 6′ 6.00″; Standing Reach: 8′ 6.50″; Weight (LBS): 209.4; Wingspan: 6′ 10.00″

As you can tell, everything seems to have gone swimmingly, especially for Dillingham and Sheppard. The duo is expected to be selected within the top ten, with some projecting them within the top five.

Where they go remains to be seen, but it’s easy to see why NBA teams are interested. Their measurements won’t do anything to quell that ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Moreover, 2024 NBA Draft is still a month and a half away, but excitement is already setting in for Kentucky products Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham. During an appearance at the NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday, Sheppard was asked how his parents’ constant support has helped him through the draft process.

“It means everything to me,” Sheppard said. “They’ve been with me ever since I’ve been a little kid. I can’t remember a time my mom hasn’t been at a game. Me and my mom travel everywhere together, all the AAU games, all the high school games.

“They didn’t even miss a college game, which is crazy. So having them here with me for the next step of the journey is unbelievable. I’m super excited to be here and have them with me.”

Sheppard’s parents were a staple this season, routinely appearing on broadcasts of Kentucky games. Both of Sheppard’s parents played basketball at Kentucky, where they met. Sheppard’s mom, Stacey, is Kentucky WBB’s all-time leader in steals per game (2.7) and ranks fourth in assists per game (3.9).

Sheppard’s father, Jeff, guided Kentucky to two national championships in 1996 and 1998. For his efforts, he was named the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA tournament in 1998. He played two seasons in the NBA.

Now, Reed Sheppard will follow in his father’s footsteps. In ESPN’s latest NBA mock draft, Jonathan Givony projected Sheppard to be the No. 7 overall pick. The only Kentucky player Givony expects to be selected earlier in the draft is Dillingham at the No. 4 spot.
