Ohio State quarterback Will Howard slid one second too late, and the Buckeyes missed their opportunity to use their final timeout and attempt a game-winning field goal at Oregon.

Luckily for them, they could get another crack at a road game against a top-three opponent this season — next week, actually.

If Penn State survives a trip to Camp Randall Stadium and defeats a suddenly-surging Wisconsin team, the No. 3 Nittany Lions will return to State College still undefeated. That’s where they’ll host No. 4 Ohio State in Week 10.

More than a week away from that highly-anticipated Big Ten showdown, FanDuel Sportsbook has an early point spread out for the matchup: As of Friday morning, Ohio State is favored by 3.5 points. The total is currently set at 49.5 points.

If you’re looking to bet the moneyline, Ohio State is listed at -160 right now, and Penn State is down at +132, according to FanDuel.

How to Watch Ohio State at Penn State

Channel: FOX, FuboTV (streaming)
Location: Beaver Stadium – University Park, Pennsylvania

Ohio State-Penn State is a matchup with serious Big Ten title race, and College Football Playoff, implications. The Nittany Lions haven’t defeated the Buckeyes since the 2016 season, the last time Penn State won the Big Ten.

Ohio State has won seven straight games in the series, which it now leads, 24-14. What’s more, since becoming head coach James Franklin’s Penn State teams just 3-17 against top-10 opponents.

“James Franklin sometimes gets more junk than he deserves,” ESPN’s Rece Davis said on “The Paul Finebaum Show” Tuesday. “He’s a very good coach, but in order to take that next step, they need to win these types of games and getting Ohio State at home, they need to win it. They need to be in the Big Ten Championship game and try and get the bye [in the CFP].

“So we’re going to find out whether they have taken a step with their new offense, and then we’re going to find out about Ohio State if they can come through on this stage, or if the losses to Michigan and the close loss to Georgia and the close loss in the regular season to Oregon have become a bit of a hex and a bit of a mental block for the Buckeyes that they can’t quite finish the deal in these in the biggest of the games.”
