OU shocked many who tuned in to watch it play the Crimson Tide over the weekend as it was in control of the game from the start. The Sooners used a dominant defensive effort to improve to 6-5 (2-5 SEC) and claim bowl eligibility just as it was starting to look like their season was over.

As for LSU (7-4, 4-3 SEC), it defeated Vanderbilt by a score of 24-17 this past week to snap a three-game losing streak. Running back Josh Williams led the way with 90 yards rushing and a pair of scores.

Oklahoma and LSU have met three times throughout history, most recently in the 2019 College Football Playoff as the Tigers won 63-28. LSU has won two of those meetings, with the Sooners’ only claim to victory coming in the 1950 Sugar Bowl.

However, given the way it performed this past week, OU should be feeling confident heading into the game. We’ll see how it plays out, but this could be a game that comes down to a play at the end.
