As mentioned, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter is the current favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Hunter has put up impressive stats on both sides of the ball all season, whether it be catching touchdown passes or getting interceptions.
Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders recently said that Hunter should without a doubt win the Heisman.
“I ain’t giving no message to no Heisman voters that are undecided. If they can’t see, they can’t see. I mean, it is what it is,” Sanders stated, regarding Hunter’s Heisman campaign. “I mean, Travis is who he is. It’s supposed to go to the best college football player. I think that’s been a wrap since what, Week 2? So, we ain’t petitioning for nobody. We ain’t doing that.
“We’ve got a wonderful display of cameras here, and I think we’re on national television every week. If they can’t see it, there’s a problem. Don’t allow their hatred for me to interfere with our kids’ success. Some of them, some of y’all got to stop that. Give the kids what they deserve, man. It ain’t my turn. I played 14 years. You had 14 years to hate me, now let it go.”
