Tennessee Titans select Ole Miss linebacker Chance Campbell in 2022 NFL Draft
Chance Campbell is taking his talents to the NFL. The former Ole Miss linebacker is officially a sixth-round draft pick.
The Tennessee Titans selected Campbell was the No. 219 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday. Campbell put together a huge year for Ole Miss in 2021, finishing with 109 total tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss, to go with 6.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries for the Rebels.
He started his career at Maryland for the first three years, but transferred to Ole Miss prior to the 2021 season, where he starred for Lane Kiffin’s group. Now, he’s heading to Tennessee to work with Mike Vrabel and the Titans.
Out of high school, Campbell was a three-star recruit and the No. 26 prospect in the state of Maryland from the Class of 2018, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Chance Campbell
Prior to the draft, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein offered his assessment of what Campbell would bring to the league. He noted he’ll be a project, but could make an impact depending on the situation he ends up. With Tennessee, there’s an opportunity to get coached up and potentially reach his ceiling with the Titans.
“Campbell is big, strong and physical but his lack of athleticism and functional speed will tether him to the box,” Zierlein wrote. “He’s able to bang between the tackles and does a nice job of locating the football when playing the run. Campbell sees runners separate from his pursuit when plays flow wide, and he’s a liability in coverage. Special teams experience and his overall physicality may help him some, but getting to plays and finishing them will always be a challenge.”
