Early point spread aside, Ole Miss enters the 2024 season looking to make a playoff run after winning 11 games and the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl a year ago. And the Rebels certainly have the pieces to do so.
Losing running back Quinshon Judkins to the NCAA transfer portal was a blow, but the Rebels softened it by landing Miami running back Henry Parrish via the portal. He was one of several impact additions across the board, as was South Carolina receiver Juice Wells.
Then there are the returning stars: quarterback Jaxson Dart, receiver Tre Harris and tight end Caden Prieskorn chief among them offensively.

That trio alone could power an offense, then you add in some of the other pieces and it gets potentially scary for Ole Miss. You can see it in the early point spread. The same is true on the defensive side of the ball, perhaps even moreso.
The Rebels snagged former top recruit Walter Nolen from Texas A&M, as well as talented pass-rusher Princely Umanmielen out of Florida. They should help form a ferocious front, while the back end is loaded with experienced players.
Ole Miss could very well start all seniors in the secondary, anchored by the likes of Isaiah Hamilton and Brandon Turnage.
On paper, it’s hard to find many weaknesses. Las Vegas clearly agrees, as evidenced by the early point spread against Furman.
Ole Miss and Furman will kick off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday with a broadcast on ESPN+/SECN+.
