Ole Miss (20-9, 7-9) and Georgia (15-14, 5-11) are two teams in the back of the Southeastern Conference’s pack whoare fighting for their postseason lives in the final week of the regular season. That makes tonight’s matchup between the two all the more important in both of their second-to-last games.

Ole Miss is on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament and hanging by a thread at this moment. They’re in the quartet after the ‘Next Four Out’ for Joe Lunardi at ESPN while they’re on the bubble but not included in the latest bracketology from On3’s James Fletcher III. The Rebels have dropped six of eight and likely need to win out this week and some in the SEC Tournament to keep their at-large hopes alive.

As for Georgia, they’ve been out of the picture for March Madness for some time due to their play over the last month. They’ve dropped nine of 10 since January 27th with the lone win coming over Vanderbilt. With them among the bottom of the league, it’ll likely take the automatic bid from the conference tournament to get them dancing beyond next week.

Odds for Ole Miss vs. Georgia

Georgia (-142 on the ML) is a 2.5-point favorite (-106) as the home team this evening according to the odds at FanDuel. As for the total, the over-under is at 149.5 points.

This game is close enough to a pick ’em with there not being much of a difference in two and a half points. Ole Miss isn’t too far behind either odds-wise at -114 as a 2.5-point underdog. That leaves it up to personal interpretation of how one would expect this to go down tonight.

KenPom Predicted final score: Georgia 76, Ole Miss 74

The Bulldogs are 11-6 overall at home this season, which could be a reason why they’re a slight favorite. Even so, they’ve dropped their last five on their home floor and are just 2-6 in their building in conference play. Meanwhile, the Rebels are 4-6 in true road games this year, including 2-6 in the SEC, with them having won their most recent one in their last outing at Missouri this past weekend.
