Ole Miss is set to take on Georgia Southern as it wraps up its non-conference schedule for the 2024 season.

The Rebels have gotten off to an impressive 3-0 start to the season, with the latest a road win against Wake Forest. Georgia Southern, on the other hand, has been a little more up and down, though it has had some competitive contests.

According to lines listed by FanDuel, Ole Miss will open as a 35.5-point favorite over Georgia Southern. The over/under points total for the contest has been set at 68.5 points.

That sets the expectation for the game: Vegas is expecting a lot of offense, and the Rebels are certainly capable of delivering.

Ole Miss is widely considered a potential College Football Playoff team, though the early season schedule has done little to test that theory. The Rebels opened up with four straight non-conference foes, mostly overmatched.

Georgia Southern figures to fit that pattern, though probably not quite as much as some of the others.

The Eagles were competitive in a 56-45 loss to Boise State, then managed to bounce back with a win on the road at Nevada. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

Still, it’ll be a tall task stopping the Rebels. Quarterback Jaxson Dart has been outstanding and is putting up huge numbers every week. Ole Miss has leaned on him to get the job done and so far he has delivered.

We’ll see if he can do it yet again.

Ole Miss and Georgia Southern are set for a 7:45 p.m. ET Saturday kickoff on the SEC Network.
