The two programs have only met twice in their storied histories, with Wake Forest boasting a 2-0 all-time record in the series. Most recently, the Demon Deacons defeated Ole Miss 30-28 in 2008. The oddsmakers don’t anticipate such a competitive showdown this time around.

Despite Ole Miss’ dominant start to the season, Dart claims the team isn’t allowing itself to look too far ahead.

“The standard is the standard,” Dart said. “We all have big dreams and aspirations for this year. For a lot of us, it’s our last season and we want to take advantage of every opportunity we get regardless if it’s a game rep or practice rep. We always say practice how you play, so each rep is extremely important.”

Ole Miss’ focus will be necessary for its Week 3 matchup. After falling in heartbreaking fashion to Virginia on Saturday, it’s difficult to imagine the Demon Deacons won’t attack their next game without a certain ferocity.

Wake Forest has the tools to do damage. In its loss to Virginia, the Demon Deacons amassed 544 total yards of offense, including 403 yards through the air. Wake Forest QB Hank Bachmeier will provide a legitimate test for the Rebels’ secondary.

“I thought our guys competed really hard, proud of the effort,” Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson said after the loss. “Again, it’s one game. This one stings, but we got another one in a week.”
