Olivia Culpo, Christian McCaffrey expecting first child

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and wife, actress and model Olivia Culpo, recently got some exciting news. The couple is reportedly expecting their first child.

Culpo shared the news on social media. In an Instagram post that shows off her baby bump, Culpo used the caption, “next chapter, motherhood.”

In a further post, alongside McCaffrey, Culpo added a video. That showed the couple doing a photo shoot as part of the announcement. It was more simply captioned with a pair of heart emojis.

Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo began their relationship back in 2019. At the time, he was playing for the Carolina Panthers. In April of 2023, they announced their engagement. Then, in June of 2024, the pair was married in Culpo’s native Rhode Island. That was a reportedly lavish wedding with family, friends, and some celebrities in attendance for the ceremony. Now, less than a full year since that wedding, they’re expecting their first child.

A talented musician, Culpo grew up playing the cello and performed with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble, the Bay View Orchestra, and the Rhode Island All-State Orchestra. She would also go on to attend Boston University. However, she is best known as 2012’s Miss Rhode Island, Miss USA, and Miss Universe. That success would launch her career as a model, which has seen her partner with makeup brands and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Beyond that, her IMDb lists her with 10 acting credits.

For his part, Christian McCaffrey is considered one of the best running backs in all of the NFL. A first round pick out of Stanford, he’s spent time with the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers. During that time, he’s been the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and is a three-time First-Team All-Pro selection. However, his 2024 season was derailed by injuries.

The pregnancy announcement is not necessarily unexpected after Culpo was recently seen with her pregnancy seemingly visible through a sweatshirt. It’s also unclear how deep into the pregnancy she currently is, but it’s safe to say she is a few months into it. Still, there is no publicly known due date, which also means it’s unclear how that could end up impacting McCaffrey and his offseason training with the 49ers.

Regardless, as McCaffrey looks to have a better 2025 season than he did in 2024, he’ll still presumably put Culpo and their future child first.
