Jimmy Garoppolo sat behind Tom Brady for several seasons as QB2 for the New England Patriots. Now, with Garoppolo’s immediate future with the Las Vegas Raiders up in the air, could it now be TB12’s turn to take over for Jimmy G.?

One offshore sportsbook appears to think so. With Garoppolo’s contract with Vegas in limbo, one sportsbook has the retired Brady as 2-1 (+200) odds to be the next starting quarterback for the Raiders.

Brian Hoyer (5-2), Matt Ryan (3-1), and Nick Foles (6-1) are listed next behind Brady. Hoyer would at least seem to be the leader overall considering he’s actually on Las Vegas’ roster. Meanwhile, Ryan, who will be with CBS Sports next season, and Foles are both veterans who may be looking for work.

Aidan O’Connell, Vegas’ rookie out of Purdue, then comes next in a tie with Carson Wentz at 7-1.

After that, you start to get to the long shots with varying levels of employment and interest.

Still, none of this might actually matter depending on Garoppolo’s status. Las Vegas brought him in for a reason this offseason on a new three-year, $72.8 million deal. However, due to a foot injury that both sides were aware of, that contract came with a waiver that would allow the team to end the deal if they see fit which, based on the latest, could very much be on the table.

That’s where Brady comes in. To be fair, the G.O.A.T. has made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to the field. It would be very hard to imagine him un-retiring again after giving 23 years of his life to the NFL. Even so, this would be a very interesting potential landing spot were he to be interested, especially because he just recently agreed to become a minority owner with the Raiders on top of already being one with the Las Vegas Aces.

Again, none of this may become anything depending on Garoppolo’s foot moving forward as well as any actual interest from Brady. It’s just quite the turn of events where, although unlikely, these two quarterbacks could cross paths again.
