Oregon vs. Ohio State odds: Early point spread for Big Ten clash in Eugene, how to watch
FanDuel Sportsbook has an early line out for Oregon-Ohio State, a highly-anticipated meeting between two Big Ten title contenders.
At the moment, FanDuel see the No. 3 Buckeyes as 2.5-point favorites despite being on the road (-137 moneyline) against a fellow undefeated conference foe in the No. 6 Ducks.
The point total is currently set at 56.5 points.
Oregon threw a wrench in Ohio State’s 2021 season three years ago when quarterback Anthony Brown Jr. and running back CJ Verdell teamed up to expose a sub-standard Buckeyes defense in Ohio Stadium and leave Columbus with a 35-28 win. Now Ohio State is looking to avenge that loss with a road victory of its own, this time equipped with what could be the best defense in the country.
Ohio State has allowed a total of 27 points through four games. In other words, the Buckeyes are giving up a mere 6.8 points per game, the fewest in the country. Oregon, meanwhile, enters this week’s game against Michigan State — the Ducks’ final tune-up before their showdown with Ohio State — having found its stride offensively. Head coach Dan Lanning’s team appears to have sorted out issues up front and is averaging 488.5 yards and 41.5 points per game over its last two outings, wins over Oregon State and UCLA.

While Oregon is facing Michigan State in Week 6, Ohio State is welcoming Iowa to Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes are getting an upset-minded Hawkeyes team that just had an off week.
Oregon escaped the first two weeks of the season with wins, even though Lanning’s squad got a pair of Idaho scares, the first from FCS Idaho and the next from now-No. 21 Boise State. On the other hand, the Buckeyes coasted through non-conference play, outscoring Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall, 157-20.
Ryan Day and Ohio State are searching for their first Big Ten title since the 2020 season. The Ducks are hoping to win the conference as first-time members. The programs’ head-to-head on Oct. 12 will play a big role in the league race.
