Orlando Magic select Tristan Da Silva in 2024 NBA Draft
Tristan Da Silva is off the board at the 2024 NBA Draft, being selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the first round by the Orlando Magic. Colorado had one of its more talented rosters in recent times under head coach Tad Boyle and the results are showing in Brooklyn.
In an age where so many college players are drafted into the NBA after just one season, Da Silva played all four years at Colorado. He could have returned for another one as well after his freshman season was cut short due to COVID-19.
Da Silva’s best season wound up being his senior one, averaging 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 34 total games. Colorado was able to make a run in the NCAA Tournament with his guidance as well, making the Round of 32 for just the fifth time since joining the Pac-12.
Some great shooting numbers were produced in ’23-24 as well, going nearly 50% from the field while making 39.5% from three and 83.5% at the free-throw line — good enough for fifth in the Pac-12.
The recruiting process was not normal for Da Silva, being an international product. He is originally from Munich, Germany, and committed to Colorado as a part of the 2020 recruiting class. Da Silva did not have any ranking at the time and was a clear developmental prospect.
Over four years later, the process has paid off for Da Silva. He is now officially an NBA player and will get his career started with the TEAM.

What NBA Draft experts are saying about Tristan Da Silva
Heading into the NBA Draft, On3’s James Fletcher gave his scouting report on Da Silva, listing him as the No. 19 prospect on the top 40 big board.
Fletcher discussed Da Silva potentially being a nice role player at some point for an NBA team. Being a nice shooter on the wing is something every team out there is looking for.
“Tristan Da Silva is another college veteran with year-over-year improvement,” Fletcher said. “As a forward shooting 39.5 percent from 3, he fits in well with what many teams want from a role player. Playing in a system which featured multiple NBA prospects last season, the 6-foot-8 German playmaker kept his production steady from the previous year.
“Da Silva’s market is clear as a high-floor wing who can come into any organization at a position of need.”
