Packers announce re-signing of Keisean Nixon, Tyler Davis
The Green Bay Packers are bringing back a couple of key pieces in 2023. The team announced Wednesday that it has re-signed cornerback Keisean Nixon and tight end Tyler Davis.
Nixon returned kicks for the Packers this past season, earning first team All-Pro honors. He was the first Packers kick returner to be named to the All-Pro team since 1976, also being named All-NFL and All-NFL according to the Pro Football Writers of America.
The South Carolina product led the league with 1,009 kickoff return yards in 2022 and well as an average of 28.8 yards per return. That average ranks first in franchise history among players who returned at least 30 kicks in a single season. Nixon also returned 11 punts for a total of 140 yards.
Nixon also played well in his limited time on defense last season, recording 23 tackles, two passes defended, a forced fumble and an interception. The deal is reportedly for one year and worth $6 million.

Davis was signed to the Packers active roster from the Colts practice squad in 2021. He went on to appear in 31 games with one start over the next two seasons, recording eight catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
The Jacksonville Jaguars originally selected Davis in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. He appeared in eight games for them during the 2020 season but did not record any stats.
Green Bay is coming off of a 9-8 finish to the 2020 season that saw it narrowly miss the playoffs. This offseason has seen a lot of drama for the Packers, with longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely on his way out. With the recent re-signings of Keisean Nixon and Tyler Davis, it will be interesting to see how the rest of free agency pans out for them.
