WATCH: Packers DB Jaire Alexander claps back at Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless following dominant performance against Justin Jefferson

Packers’ star cornerback Jaire Alexander used some fuel from Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on Sunday and turned it into a devastatingly dominant performance against one of the best receivers in the game today, Vikings’ superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson. He limited Jefferson to just one catch for 15 yards, one of the most impressive performances of his NFL career thus far.

Alexander has been well-known as one of the league’s elite corners for quite some time now, but apparently, he felt like Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless did not give him as much credit as he deserved. After Green Bay absolutely destroyed the Minnesota Vikings 41-17 on Sunday, Alexander made sure that Sharpe and Bayless know they need to put some respect on his name.

Alexander made his message to Sharpe and Bayless crystal clear following one of the most impressive performances by a defensive back in the past few years.

“And tell Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless they need to you know, watch what they say when they talk about me. You feel me? They need to watch what they put out talking about he’s a good corner. I’m a great corner,” Alexander said in his big head hat.

That legendary performance will undoubtedly be burned into the brains of NFL fans everywhere for years to come. Limiting Justin Jefferson to one catch for just 15 yards is simply unheard of. It was clear from the start of the game that Alexander was fired up and determined to make Jefferson’s day a miserable one. He even broke up a pass thrown to the former LSU star and did the griddy right in front of him. A bold, bold move against one of the best receivers in the game.

Let’s not forget that Jefferson is the same man that flame-roasted the Packers’ secondary Week 1 this year, hauling in nine catches for 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jaire Alexander proved his point in a big way on Sunday

Alexander’s performance was a beautiful example of how players can use fuel from the media to motivate them to perform better on the field. So many players and coaches can’t handle criticism in today’s day and age. If they want to re-write the narrative and change what people are saying, they can always use it as fuel to push their game to another level. The best way to prove critics wrong is to prove it on the playing field. And Alexander did just that, even though, they weren’t being critical of him, but perhaps not giving him enough praise. Rest assured, after Sunday, his point was proven.

The Packers’ defense impressive performance propelled them to a dominant 41-17 victory over the Vikings and now, only the Detroit Lions stand between them and the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs. If Green Bay defeats the Lions, they are the No. 7 seed in the NFC in the upcoming playoffs. It’s that simple. If they lose, they’ll miss the playoffs.
