Packers DE Devonte Wyatt carted off after apparent knee injury vs Broncos
The injury bug continues to bite Packers defensive end Devonte Wyatt. The Green Bay lineman left Sunday’s game in the first half with an apparent knee injury suffered against the Broncos.
Zach Kruse of Packers Wire reported that Wyatt was being carted to the locker room after the injury. The team officially listed him as “questionable” to return to Sunday’s game.
The Packers listed Wyatt as questionable coming into this weekend’s game against the Broncos because of the knee injury. That didn’t seem to help anything by playing.
So far, Wyatt has appeared in five games for Green Bay with two starts. He has totaled 13 tackles with 2.5 sacks. The Packers entered Sunday’s game with a 2-3 record.
Green Bay headed to Denver with nine players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. Seven of them were scheduled to play: Aaron Jones, Elgton Jenkins, Yosh Nijman, Darnell Savage, Eric Stokes, Quay Walker and Wyatt, per Zach Jacobson of Heavy.com.
Wyatt was a first-round selection out of Georgia in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played in 16 games last season, tallying 15 stops and 1.5 sacks.
Packers activate Eric Stokes from PUP list
Nearly a year after suffering a major foot injury, Stokes was prepared to make his return to the field. The Packers activated the cornerback from the PUP list, marking the first time he has played this season.

Stokes was ready to start playing again. The cornerback had been practicing with the team for a few weeks before he was activated. That prepared him for Sunday’s appearance.
“Physically, yeah, mentally, yeah. Everything is there,” Stokes said about his return, per SI.com. “It’s just the point of I’ve just got to get there, it’s just the point of me being 100 percent sure with everything that’s going on. It’s being smart, being safe because it’s a long season. I think we still got like 11, 12 games after this, so it’s still a long season ahead.”
With Green Bay activating Stokes for Sunday’s game, the team also released linebacker Justin Hollins.
Stokes is in his third year with the Packers out of Georgia. He appeared in just nine games during the 2022 campaign because of the season-ending foot injury.
The cornerback put up impressive numbers as a rookie in 2021. He tallied 55 stops, 14 passes defended and an interception that year. Last season, he was responsible for 26 tackles.
