Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander surprised a reporter on Monday morning as he arrived at Lambeau Field. Amid the Action 2 News segment on the Packers clinching a spot in the playoffs, Alexander jumped into the live shot and said, “I’m just here to tell you, Pack is back!”

Throwing on some shades and running off camera, the star defender went right back to work. The reporter didn’t seem to have the time to recognize the 26-year-old corner, saying, “You heard it from a fan right here, the Pack is back.”

The Green Bay Packers will travel for the wild card round on Sunday. They’ll face the Dallas Cowboys and former head coach Mike McCarthy at AT&T Stadium at 4:30 p.m. ET. The two teams are the No. 7 and 2 seeds in the NFC, respectively. A classic matchup that goes back quite a bit, the Packers have faced the Cowboys in the playoffs eight times, splitting the games 4-4. The meeting on Sunday will be their ninth in the postseason.

Alexander ‘surprised’ by suspension after coin-toss debacle

On Sunday, Alexander returned from a one-game suspension. He received the suspension from the team for anointing himself a team captain and nearly botching the pregame coin toss before the 33-30 Week 16 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Alexander told reporters he was “surprised” by the suspension but believes he and the Packers are in a better place because of it.

Alexander, the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback at $21 million annually, said he learned through the suspension that communication between he and the franchise needs to improve.

“Yeah, I think it was definitely something to learn from,” Alexander said. “There’s definitely things that I could have improved upon during that week to help with communication. Moving forward, that won’t happen again.”

Alexander, the two-time Pro Bowler, has suited up in just seven games this season, hampered by a back and shoulder injury. The 26-year-old made his return against Carolina following a six-game absence, recording three tackles and a forced fumble.

In the game against the Bears in Week 18, the former first-rounder had two tackles. The Packers took the win 17-9.
