Packers LB Ralen Goforth exits preseason game vs. Broncos with concussion
Green Bay Packers rookie linebacker Ralen Goforth took a shot from Denver quarterback Jarrett Stidham near the goal line on Sunday evening. And he was immediately shaken up after Stidham scored on the touchdown run. Goforth immediately left the field with trainers was being evaluated for a concussion, according to the Green Bay Twitter page. Shortly after, the Packers Twitter page stated that the former Washington star had been officially diagnosed with a concussion.
A transfer from USC, Goforth played in 15 games for the University of Washington on their way to the CFP championship game. He notched 37 tackles (20 solo), four tackles for a loss, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 2023.
The Packers didn’t play any of their offensive starters on Sunday evening, but plenty of other players got their chances to step up and shine. The Broncos whipped Green Bay 27-2, thanks to some great play by their defense and quarterback Bo Nix.
The Packers have one of the NFL’s deepest passing attacks
The Packers franchise had an impressive season in 2023-2024, steamrolling the Cowboys (48-32) in the first round of the NFC Playoffs, before falling short to the San Francisco 49ers (24-21). Green Bay finished off their regular season by rattling off three straight wins in order to punch their tickets to the playoffs. They’ve got a nice young core of offensive weapons, led by quarterback Jordan Love. He enjoyed a breakout year last year, completing 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, while tossing in 32 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
It was his first full year as the starter for the Packers. Love has been surrounded by an incredibly talented and youthful receiving corps, led by Romeo Doubs. He hauled in 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Then they’ve got Christian Watson, who has been slowed by hamstring issues in the past, but when healthy, has shown his ability to make explosive plays in the open field.
Another key contributor in their passing attack last year was former Virginia star, Dontayvion Wicks.
Wicks showed the same ability in his rookie season that allowed him to set school records during his time in Charlottesville. He hauled in 39 catches for 581 yards and four touchdowns. Together, they’ve carved out a name for themselves as one of the younger and more talented receiving units in all of the National Football League.
