Packers officially announce offensive coordinator decision

The Packers have officially announced who will take the reins as their next offensive coordinator. On Monday, the team revealed the team’s offensive line coach and run game coordinator Adam Stenavich was being promoted.

“The Green Bay Packers have promoted Adam Stenavich to offensive coordinator,” revealed the team. “Head Coach Matt LaFleur made the announcement Monday.”

With the departure of Nathaniel Hackett to the Denver Broncos, the Packers were in the market for a new offensive coordinator. Originally, it was believed quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy would be promoted. However, Getsy took his talents to Chicago, named the offensive coordinator of the Bears.

Now, the Packers are turning to Stenavich. Since he’s joined Green Bay, the team’s run-game has been among the best in the league. Now, he’ll look to have continued success with the team he’s worked his way up for.

Packers lose assistant to NFC North rival

Moreover, the announcement comes as the Packers lose a coveted offensive assistant to the Chicago Bears. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Green Bay quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Luke Getsy is joining the NFC North rival.

“The #Bears agreed to terms with new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, per source,” revealed Pelissero on Sunday. “Should be official later today. The former #Packers QB coach/passing game coordinator, who is close with Aaron Rodgers, stays in the NFC North to mold Justin Fields.”

As the Bears look for the right coach to help quarterback Justin Fields, they’re killing two birds with one stone. On one hand, they get a coveted offensive mind for their own staff. The flip side of the coin, the Bears are stealing an important piece of their biggest rival’s coaching staff.

With a mind like Getsy’s helping mold the future, things are looking up for Fields, and the entire Bears offense.
