Packers officially elevate quarterback from practice squad, activate key receiver
The Green Bay Packers have made a few roster moves of note ahead of Sunday’s huge afternoon matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Since the Packers will be without reigning MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they have called up a quarterback from the practice squad. And they will be getting back one of their biggest offensive threats back this week.
The Packers have announced that they will activate veteran quarterback Blake Bortles from their practice squad. Bortles will act as the backup to this week’s starter Jordan Love. Love will make his NFL debut against the Chiefs after being selected in the first round of the 2020 draft. Fortunately for the second-year receiver, he will have the services of Packers speedy wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Valdes-Scantling was placed on IR after straining his hamstring in the Packers’ week three victory against the San Francisco 49ers. It was believed that he would be back in time for Thursday’s game against the Cardinals, but that plan did not come to fruition.
Love get another star back
The Green Bay Packers are officially activating wide receiver Davante Adams to the 53-man roster from their reserve/COVID-19 list. Adams was placed on the list last week before the Packers’ Thursday night matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Green Bay made the move to add him back to the main roster early Friday afternoon.
There was hope before the game that Green Bay’s leading receiver would be able to play, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The Packers still managed to come away with the win on Thursday without Adams. Cornerback Rasul Douglas made a game-saving interception on the Cardinal drive to seal the victory for Green Bay.

This week the Packers will find themselves without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers as he is the most recent to be affected by the team’s rash of Covid related issues.
Packers linebacker named NFC DPOTM
Green Bay Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October. Campbell was a key contributor for the Packers defensively, helping them go 5-0 in the month of October.
In those five games, the six-year veteran recorded 45 total tackles, 29 of which were solo. Campbell also had two forced fumbles, two pass deflections, one sack and an interception. The two fumbles were forced against the Washington Football Team, but neither was successfully recovered by the defense. However, one was on a key 4th-and-goal stand in the third quarter, preventing Washington from scoring.
