The Green Bay Packers enter their Week 9 matchup against the Detroit Lions banged up and with plenty of question marks listed in the Friday injury report. On Friday afternoon, they listed five players as questionable: tackle David Bakhtiari, tackle Elgton Jenkins, wide receiver Allen Lazard, linebacker Preston Smith, and wide receiver Christian Watson.

On top of that, they ruled two players out for Sunday’s game–linebacker De’Vondre Campbell and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles. Campbell is out with a knee injury that he suffered against the Buffalo Bills and did not practice at all on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

While Campbell being ruled out for the Lions game was expected, that doesn’t make his loss any less significant. Preston Smith is yet another important piece of the Packers’ defense and he was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

There is a glimmer of good news on the report, as receiver Allen Lazard logged limited practice sessions on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. His questionable tag is at least hope that the Packers could get back one of their receivers. Watson didn’t practice at all on Wednesday, but logging limited practice sessions on Thursday and Friday does give fans mild optimism that he’ll return on Sunday. The league has been very cautious with players in the concussion protocol since Tua Tagovailoa’s case, so it’s tough to say whether or not he’ll return.

David Bakhtiari’s knee has been an issue for a really long time now and it’s a fair question to ask whether or not he will ever be fully healthy again. Jenkins logging two limited practices is good news, but the Packers’ offensive line issues have been tied to both players not being fully healthy for much of the season.
