Packers sign seventh-round draft pick Michael Pratt, rookie contract details revealed
In the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers took quarterback Michael Pratt out of Tulane. Now, he’s officially signed his rookie contract.
The former Green Wave star inked for four years and $4.106 million. His rookie contract included a signing bonus of $86,940.
Michael Pratt comes to Green Bay after an incredibly successful college career with the Tulane Green Wave. There, he was a four year start and led the Green Wave to two straight bowl games, including a Cotton Bowl win. That was the first time Tulane won a New Year’s Six Bowl since the 1935 Sugar Bowl, when Tulane beat Temple. It was also just the fourth time in program history the Green Wave went to bowl games in back-to-back seasons.
During his career with Tulane, Michael Pratt completed 60.6 percent of his passes, going from a completion percentage of 55.1 percent as a freshman to 65.4 percent as a senior. He also finished his career with 9,611 passing yards and 90 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,147 yards and 28 touchdowns.
In 2023, Michael Pratt was honored as the AAC Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-AAC selection. The year before that, Pratt had been a second-team All-AAC selection.

For now, the Green Bay Packers seem happy with Jordan Love for the foreseeable future at quarterback. However, it’s a position where depth is always going to be important, and Michael Pratt can offer both depth and the ability to develop into a solid quarterback in the coming years.
The selection of Michael Pratt became one of the viral moments of the 2024 NFL Draft. A native of South Florida, Pratt decided to take a swim while waiting to get picked. When that call came, he had to hop out to take it. That’s when he informed everyone at his part that they’d need to get the winter coats because he was headed to Green Bay.
What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Michael Pratt
Ahead of the NFL Draft, analyst Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote his thoughts on Michael Pratt.
“Highly experienced and a respected team leader, Pratt has shown consistent improvement from season to season. Pratt has done a nice job of making safe decisions instead of reckless ones and throws with touch over all three levels. He struggles to throw with consistent accuracy and placement on intermediate throws,” Zierlein wrote.
“Also, he appears to lack the anticipation and field awareness to beat NFL coverage across the field. Pratt has Day 3 potential but will be in a battle to win a future backup role.”
