Pat McAfee sparks rumors of potential ESPN exit with cryptic post

Since his arrival at ESPN, there has been all manner of talk about his presence at the Worldwide Leader. But one thing is for sure: Pat McAfee moves the needle.
That’s why a somewhat cryptic and introspective post on Twitter on Sunday night had some folks chattering. McAfee launched into a lengthy diatribe on the journey through life, drawing a parallel to reading a book.
“Life’s a book… each day being a page leading to the next..” Pat McAfee wrote. “Phases of life come and go like chapters.. not every character/job/idea has to appear in every chapter. Some things are perfect for the story when it’s needed.. and then disappear as just a fond memory. A pivotal influence to get from one era to the next…
“Don’t be scared to end a chapter and start anew.. you’re gonna have to do it eventually anyways.”
His post would continue, but the ominous tone had many wondering if a potential exit from ESPN could be in the cards. It would be hard to fathom, but certainly not completely out of the realm of possibility for the sometimes controversial media star.
And wherever Pat McAfee goes, he’s likely to bring a crowd. One user chimed in on his advice.
“10-4.. but where do I tune in to watch tomorrow?” the user wrote.
McAfee’s lengthy post on Twitter came just one day after he took part in WWE Backlash on Saturday night. McAfee lost his match to WWE star Gunther, taking a bit of a physical beating in the process.

Could Pat McAfee’s post have been related to a potential future in wrestling? Hard to say.
“And always remember to check with the mirror every once in a while and make sure your book is one that makes you happy..” McAfee wrote, “and if it’s not, change direction.. I think that you’re allowed to do that.. we have NO IDEA when the final page is being written.. with no sequels. ‘Tis our only chance at this thing here.
“I appreciate you all so much for everything. I’m living the dumbest book of all time.. trying to figure it all aht as I go.. #UpToSomethingSZN.”
So for now, viewers will just have to stay tuned. It certainly sounds like Pat McAfee has something cooking.
