Most in the NFL consider Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes to be the best player in the league. Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has a different opinion, though. Chase picked his quarterback — Joe Burrow — as the best player in the NFL.

“Joe Burrow. Everybody knows that, yea. That’s easy. MVP,” Chase said.

The former LSU star in Joe Burrow is without a doubt one of the best players in the league, but it’s hard to pick against Mahomes after he just won his second Super Bowl in February.

The 27-year-old Mahomes has won two Super MVPs and two MVPs, too. That doesn’t impress Chase, though.

When Chase was told that Joe Burrow picked Patrick Mahomes as the best player in the NFL, Chase responded: “Pat who?”

It’s pretty bold of Ja’Marr Chase to take a shot at the reigning MVP. However, to his credit, the Bengals are the last team to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs.

Burrow and Cincinnati knocked off the Chiefs in Kansas City during the 2021 playoffs, before losing to the Rams in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs bounced back this past season, earning a 23-20 win over the Bengals and Burrow in the playoffs, on their way to a Super Bowl win over the Eagles.

Kansas City and Cincinnati have a rivalry that has been growing. Chase’s comments about Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes should only add to that.

Patrick Mahomes names the three toughest players he’s faced in his career

Speaking of Mahomes, the Chiefs star recently named the three toughest players he has faced in his career. He didn’t hesitate when naming the toughest.

“In my career, Aaron Donald is one, that’s out the gate,” Patrick Mahomes said, via Complex Sports.

It’s no surprise that Mahomes has Aaron Donald at the top of his list. The former Pitt Panthers star has been named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times and has earned first-team All-Pro honors seven times.

The No. 2 defensive player on Mahomes’ list may be a surprise to some, especially considered he was traded this offseason and the Rams didn’t get all that much back. Joining Donald in Mahomes’ top 3 is Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

“I’ll say Jalen Ramsey, especially the last few years, has always been a dog. And I know he’s going to Miami, so he’s one of them,” Mahomes said.

Finally, Mahomes mentioned a pass rusher who has given him some issues in his career in Von Miller.

“And then Von Miller. I’m glad he’s not in my division anymore,” Mahomes joked.

Miller was with the Broncos for several years, before spending time with the Rams and Bills. He has won a pair of Super Bowls, including a Super Bowl MVP.
