The three stars of the Netflix docuseries QuarterbackPatrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota — walked the red carpet Tuesday to celebrate the premiere.

You can catch the nine-part series starting today. It’ll surely get you in the proper mindset as the start of training camps loom later this month. After all, the action for Quarterback started this time a year ago as the three quarterbacks prepped for 2022. Mahomes, one of the stars, led his team to the Super Bowl. He’ll try to do so again.

“Everybody saw the Super Bowl,” Mahomes said on the red carpet. “Now, they can see the journey. You’re going to see the step by step journey of how we got there, especially the whole team. So I’m excited for everybody to see that.”

Mahomes continued: “Everybody sees the Sundays, they see the game days, the Super Bowl. They don’t see the day to day grind. not only myself, the whole team. They also get to see my family.”

So keep in mind, you’re seeing the grind of a season. But on Tuesday, everyone involved with the premiere saluted the show during a party at the Netflix Tudum Theater.

New Netflix show celebrates quarterbacks with different stories

Here’s what’s happening with the nine-part docuseries. This is how Netflix described the new series:

Quarterback is a first-of-its kind partnership between the NFL and Netflix, offering unprecedented access to three of the league’s top players. The nine-episode series follows quarterbacks who, for the first time ever, are mic’d up for every single game, from the beginning of the 2022 season to its conclusion. And it’s not just life on the field, either: Quarterback takes fans from inside the huddle to inside players’ homes, showing how they navigate the pressures of their professional and personal lives.”

Obviously, Mahomes plays a big role in Quarterback. After all, he won the Super Bowl. His production company, called 2PM, helped produce the series. Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions also played a role.

Meanwhile, Cousins is the old guy on the show. Quarterback documents his 10th year in the NFL. Bet on Cousin’s viral, shirtless party dance being part of the Netflix docuseries. The first time he did the dance was when the team was flying home from a road game. Cousins took the Vikings to the playoffs last season, although Minnesota lost in the first round.

Of course, the Netflix series isn’t all glamour and Super Bowl rings. Mariota, the former Heisman winner from Oregon, also is part of it. And the show documents his only season with the Falcons. He opened the season as the starter in Atlanta, but finished it behind rookie Desmond Ridder. Mariota now is with the Eagles and a backup to Jalen Hurts.
