Patrick Mahomes reacts to LeBron James game-winner vs. Pacers

Plenty of big-time athletes are huge sports fans themselves. And Kansas City star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of them. On Wednesday evening, when he saw LeBron James tip in the game-winner against the Indiana Pacers at the buzzer, he reacted on his Twitter page with a crown.
Following the big play, James said he couldn’t show much emotion. “I really couldn’t have too much emotion because I was trying to see if I got the ball off in time,” he said via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
More on LeBron James and his Hall of Fame career
James, who is 40 years old and in his 20th NBA season, is still producing at an elite level for the Lakers in 2024-25. He still ranks 12th in the league with 24.9 points per game and sixth with 8.4 assists per game.
James surpassed Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387 points for the NBA regular season record on Feb. 7, 2023. He also did so in fewer games than it took for Abdul-Jabbar to break the record. James has played the third-most games of any NBA player in history with 1,547, which is behind second-place Abdul-Jabbar (1,560).
Long before he passed Abdul-Jabbar for the regular season scoring record, however, James broke the postseason record that was previously held by Michael Jordan in 2017.

James put together a huge overall performance in the month of February to average 29.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists. He was named the NBA’s Western Conference player of the month as a result, becoming the oldest player in league history to earn the honor.
Not surprisingly, James’ high level of play led to the Lakers finishing last month with a 10-2 record.
As if the above records weren’t enough, James also holds the all-time streak for most games with 10 points or more, having not failed to reach that mark since Jan. 6, 2007. With both him and the recently acquired Luka Doncic, LA is a serious contender to get James a fifth NBA championship.
If he does, just add it to the list of reasons why many consider him one of the greatest to ever play the game.
