Patrick Mahomes heard what Darrell Doucette said about him and had no choice but to respond. Doucette, quarterback of the USA flag football team, told TMZ Sports that he’s better than the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback. On X, Mahomes shared the interview while adding the 50 Cent member where he says “Why he say f***me for?”

Doucette was talking about NFL players potentially taking part in flag football in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Mahomes expressed he wanted to be part of the team, but Doucette had something to say about that.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” Doucette said in an interview with TMZ Sports. “I know, right now, he’s the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all of these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”

Doucette added that flag football players would perform better as NFL players would have a hard time making the transition. “I can only voice upon what I have seen and what I know of myself,” Doucette said. “They have never played. So, I can easily say I’m better in flag football because they’ve never played. Now, if they take the time and actually put in the work, they should be better than me. They’re in the NFL, they’re elite. But I don’t think the transition would be as quick. I don’t think they would take the game as serious as we do.”

In November, Mahomes, who will be 32 in 2028, talked about his ambition to play in the Summer Games. “NFL football, American football, has taken to further parts, all the way across the world, with flag football coming to the Olympics. I think it’s really cool because football is a great game that has given me so much and I want to make sure everyone gets the same experience that I got growing up,” Mahomes told reporters at the time, per Olympics.com.

“I definitely want to, but I’ve seen some of those guys play the flag football and they’re a little faster than I am. “I know there’s not, like, linemen blocking for you. I’ll be 31, 32 years old, so if I can still move around then, I’m going to try to get out there and throw the football around maybe in LA. Just don’t tell Coach [Andy] Reid or [Brett] Veach or anybody.”
