Patrick Mahomes shotguns a beer on stage at Luke Combs' concert
Evidently, Patrick Mahomes is talented on the field and the stage. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback made an appearance at a Luke Combs concert in Kansas City on Saturday. Mahomes was tossing back more than just footballs.
The 27-year-old joined Combs on stage and shotgunned a beer to the pleasure of the hometown crowd. Mahomes was all smiles as the country singer serenaded him off the stage. Combs wasn’t the only artist Mahomes was there to support.
The two-time Super Bowl winner met up with Combs’ opening act, Flatland Calvary. The band is from Lubbock, Texas. The same town Mahomes spent four years at Texas Tech. Mahomes certainly isn’t in Lubbock anymore.
Earning $45 million a year in his contract, Mahomes travels the world. Just this offseason, Mahomes has visited the F1 Grand Prix in Miami. Just before that, Mahomes gave the iconic “Riders up!” call at the Kentucky Derby.
Mahomes is aware of his busy schedule. USA TODAY’s Safid Deen asked Mahomes at the Miami Grand Prix, “Weren’t you at the Kentucky Derby yesterday?” The franchise quarterback responded, “I’m everywhere.”
Unfortunately for Mahomes’ opponent, he isn’t lying. In 2022, Mahomes amassed 5,250 passing yards, over 500 more than the next closest quarterback. Moreover, Mahomes threw for 41 touchdowns with a mere 12 interceptions.

Mahomes’ accomplishments know no bounds. The Tyler, Texas, native is the youngest player to ever win a league MVP and a Super Bowl title. Additionally, he became the fastest QB in NFL history to reach 10,000 career passing yards.
Mahomes doesn’t limit his athletics to the gridiron. The two-time Pro Bowler has dominated several celebrity softball games this summer, crushing home runs like he’s done it all his life. On June 29, Mahomes will be competing against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in Capital One’s The Match.
Don’t be surprised when the Renaissance man drops a hole-in-one. Nothing is off-limits. If Combs isn’t careful next time, Mahomes might go solo on stage. Despite the fun of the outside antics, Chiefs fans are excited for their beloved quarterback to get back on the field this fall.
The Chiefs will kick off their regular season with a primetime matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. Kansas City’s odds look good. NFL.com’s Dan Hanzus listed the Chiefs at No. 1 in his NFL preseason power rankings.
