The recent Bourbon Street beef between former MLB pitchers Patrick Mahomes Sr. and John Rocker is now an official Rough N’ Rowdy boxing match, according to Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy.

Portnoy announced the April 19 bout between Mahomes Sr. and Rocker in a Wednesday afternoon post on X/Twitter, revealing it will take place in Wheeling, West Virginia.

After video surfaced of their confrontation on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Rocker and Mahomes Sr. continued the back-and-forth on social media Tuesday night. The two traded barbs on X/formerly Twitter following their incident after Super Bowl LIX.

Rocker reposted video of the incident, which he said started after he made a joke in an NSFW post. Mahomes Sr. didn’t take too kindly to it, which led to the strong reaction.

“This fucking loser can’t take a damn joke,” Rocker wrote. “Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bullshit weekend even more.”

Mahomes Sr. replied to Rocker’s post citing his infamous history.

“You really haven’t changed one bit in the last 25 years,” Mahomes Sr. wrote. “Keep my name out your loud mouth.”

Rocker then responded in kind. He didn’t think Mahomes Sr. would say that to him during their exchange before firing another jab.

“You wouldn’t have had the balls to say that to my face the other night,” Rocker said. “Lanky ass clown.”

Mahomes Sr., Rocker to join former MLB player Jose Canseco as Rough N’ Rowdy boxers

Mahomes played for six MLB teams over 12 seasons (1992-2003) in the Major Leagues, beginning with the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. Rocker, meanwhile, played for six MLB seasons (1998-2003) for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Rangers and Tampa Bay Devil Rays before off-field distractions and poor performance ended his career in baseball. The two were never on the same team together.

This won’t be the first time Rough N’ Rowdy had a former MLB player apart of its boxing lineup after former slugger Jose Canseco fought and lost to Billy Football in Rough N’ Rowdy 13 back in 2021, prompting Portnoy to accuse Canseco of taking a dive in the match.

Mahomes’ son, Patrick Mahomes II, and the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in blowout fashion in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
